I just upgraded My sisters media player from 9 to 11 and it is not seeing the
cd drive.  where would I go to make it see the drive and any disk that is in
it for ripping or burning?  she is using XP home v2002 service pack 2.

I'm having same problem.  Any help would be appreciated.  If i put in cd and
then open media player - it rips - but if i try to put in new cd to rip again
it won't recognize the new cd in the drive.  windows xp  version 11

You have AutoInsert Notification turned off - you will need to turn it back

Some Roxio CD burning software installs a feature called "Direct to
disk" which interferes with WMP's ability to detect a disk in the
drive. Try seeing if there's an icon near the PC system tray clock, or
in Control Panel which will help you remove or disable that feature.

Are you sure you've added a blank, Audio CD and not a DVD blank ?

Does it see the CD if you reopen the player?
Does Explorer/Windows see the CD?
