I just got a new computer with Vista Home operating system. When I play mp3
files on WMP, they often skip/pause randomly, even when there are no other
programs open on my computer that might interfere with the player. Why is
this happening?

In Task Manager under the Processes tab with everything showing, is anything
else running and eating the CPU when it pauses like that?  Some things that
use the CPU won't show up on the task bar but would in the Processes tab...

Speaking for myself only.
See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
