I'm using windows media player 11.0.5721.5230 and Windows XP Pro
Version 2002 with service pack 2. Wmp11 does not recognize my internet
connection when try to update audio info (album art, album info, etc.)
I was thinking it could be a firewall problem but I really don't have
any idea. I'm using internet explorer and I can get online fine. Any
info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you check the "Connect to the Internet" checkbox within WMP's
Tools:Options, does that fix it?

What protocols are listed in WMP's Tools:Options:Network tab?

I have had the same problem but when I close down my Zone Alarm firewall, it
does let me onto the Web which it does not when the firewall is in place.
However, even though I can get past the firewall, it still does not reveal
any info.  If I go back to my original Media 9 then the access and the info
are immediate (Real Player likewise.)  I think that Media 11 is simply not
very good.  At the moment I have another post on here because I cannot get
any Media 11 (or 9) sound with my new motherboard.

Which version of Zone Alarm?  This seems like your firewall is blocking the
player needlessly... ?  The Zone Alarm peoples should know more about that
issue.
