Hi,

I have multiple computers that can't play http://www.team990.com/team990.asx
in Windows Media Player 11 on Win XP SP2. They also can't play it in WinAmp
5.5.

In WMP I get the error "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. A network
firewall might be preventing the Player...."

I turned off the firewall on one PC and it still didn't work [I have a
hardware firewall as well]. But I checked with a couple of others and they
can play it. All on the same network.

Thanks

It's because they're sending a MMS URL to the player, and WMP doesn't
support those old URLs any more. By going to

File -> Open URL

and typing in rtsp://216.46.1.21/team990 it'll play on WMP11

They don't have the equivalent http URL enabled on their server to
use, and I think it's one of the rollover checks WMP does when it
realises there's an mms URL.

Once you've got it playing, you can add now playing to your library or
to a playlist which you can use to access it in future.

HTH

Thanks.

Maybe I'll inform them. :-)
