I'm a novice! I've DL'd a movie and when using WMP10 it has no sound. I have checked all the codecs using GSpot and according to that they are fine. I did a render test thing and I could hear the sound of the movie in GSpot - but not in Media Player. Can anyone help me out here? I would be eternally grateful! Anna >I'm a novice! Can you hear sounds from CDs or any other source material ? WMP10 has a confusing and near invisible Mute button to the left of the volume slider. At least once, try clicking that during playback, it may have been pressed and remembered the Muted setting. The volume is definitely on as it plays other files. What I did try is playing the movie in Real Player - and the sound works. So then it's something to do with WMP.....?? Do you remember where you got the file - or even, is it on a website I could check the file content ? There's quite a lot of variables about movies which makes it hard to diagnose without being able to see the result on your PC. In media player, if you were to press CTRL+ M keys to show the menus, start the file playing then go to File -> Properties menu, what is listed there for audio (and video) codecs ?
