OK, I've Googled for a while now, and the best solution I've found for
removing dead song links from the WMP library is to delete the library
entries, and then rescan monitored folders ... basically building the
library from scratch.  And that's actually a poor solution.

Is there really no better way of doing this?

As far as I know: no.
That is one of the options I would like to see: check the library
against the files and *tell* me which links are dead. And of course the
reverse: check the data against the library and *tell* me what has been
added.

I found that doing just a rescan removed the dead links.  VERY slow
process, though.  I'd like to see WMP's file monitoring process be as
fast as MediaMonkey's.
