Similarly, I've put my music in D:\Steves\Audio
You probably want to go into the library settings and disable "Rename
music files" and "Rearrange music", which should stop WMP changing
things. It never does for me.
You can't avoid it looking in certain folders on the "C:" drive; just
don't put anything new in there. You might like to disable "Add files
previously deleted" (In Monitor Folders) or it tends to make things come
back (unless you really delete them from your PC, and not just from the
library).

It should only be looking at the Rip folder - everything else you should be
able to set to Ignore. =)

Speaking for myself only.
