I am getting this error when try to play WMV streaming files from
zshare site. I am running Vista Home Premium and using WMP 11.

"You've encountered error message C00D11B1 while using Windows Media
Player."

The WMP11 tool-->options-->DVD Advanced tab is disabled or greyed out
for me.

Does it means something is not configured right? Really appreciate any
help on this

I tried several solutions suggested on microsoft forums, yahoo answers
and googled everything on web....but NO SOULUTION to my issue.

Hi,
Vista Home Premium, all updates installed.
I keep getting a problem when I open an .avi file, especially if it comes
from a .zip file.
If plays for about ten seconds then stops. After this nothing will open in
WMV, and several other programs like Window Washer won't open either.
The only remedy is to do a restart.
Any ideas?
Regards,
Alan.

Is it just AVI files that have this problem?  Did you install any codec
packs?  Those are bad.

Do WMV files still work fine?

0xc00d11b1 is "file open failed" and is pretty generic at best.
If you download the files first, do they play back correctly?
Do other sites work correctly?

I don't know the rules on the Advanced tab not showing up - I suspect your
DVD filter doesn't support that functionality.  Regardless, that should have
zero relevance to a WMV issue.  =)

Downloading and playing files works but playing streaming online(wmv
files) doesnt work.
Any streaming videos usign WMP11 arent working. Where as CNN Money and
You Tube uses Adobe flash player and they work fine.
I have done lot of research and nothing is helping me.

I am thinking its some Vista and WMP11 issue

Appreciate your help

Are links that you click to start the standalone player broken, or is the
player-embedded-in-the-web-page broken?  What's a sample web page that shows
this problem for you?
