Disappearing Player?

All of a sudden my Windows Media Player is not poping up when i click on a
video or audio file. But i can hear it playing.

It could have opened "off screen" somehow. Is there a program icon in
the taxkbar (somewhere to the right of thr Start menu , usually ?)

Try right-clicking that and choose "Move".

Now put the mouse down, and using only left/up or right/down arrow
keys on the keyboard, try to move the player window partly back on
screen.

Once you have it fully on screen, close the player (which remembers
its last screen position) and restart media player.
