I'm running WMP 11 on vista home premium and i can not hear any sound when i
play video files on it. Also, when i try to forward my WMP keeps hanging. I
wanted to re-install my WMP but i can not figure how-to do so. In XP we had
the windows component option to re-instgall any feature or program we get
with the OS but in  Vista i can not figure how to do this. Can anyone please
help me on this?

There is no way to reinstall the player in Vista short of reinstalling
Vista.

What changed on the system before this broke?

What sound card do you have?  What video card do you have?

Do audio-only files work?

Speaking for myself only.
See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
