Nothing whatsoever to do with WMP (but WMP11 for those who will still
insist): Is there a website or newsgroup where you can submit a sample
of music and people will try to determine what it is?

If you're up for a challenge (and there is a $5 prize for the first
correct answer that comes to my attention) then the 774kb snippet is at
http://swiftys.org.uk/scone.mp3 and I have some evidence that the
composer may be Graham Preskett. It is from Billy Connolly's "World Tour
of Scotland" TV series. It will take at least 26 seconds to download -
my ADSL does only 30kbps up.

Send the clip to Shazam : http://www.shazam.com/music/portal

Dial them on 2580 (UK) with your mobile phone, and play the clip into
the phone - you'll receive a text message within a minute which
reliably identifies the music.

I tried this at a rather noisy Redbull Air Race event a couple of
years ago, with planes passing over - it successfully identified all 3
tracks which were being played on the huge PA.

If I win, please send the $5 to one of the Burma cyclone appeals
(disasters emergency committee in UK, www.dec.org can distribute it to
eg Oxfam and other agencies)

Well, I got a most unexpected outcome. The actual composer contacted me
and a CD arrived in the post a couple of days later.

Does anyone know J.S. Bach's email address?
