No, sorry (don't have anything that new here !)

What content are you trying to repeat ? Is it video, audio, DVD, CD or
MIDI file, or do you happen to know the file extension listed for the
file ?

It's when I am listening to my music. All files are .wav 1141 kbps. I have
not tried pressing this button in anything other than music files, whether
it's in the now playing window or the library window, I have not been able
to get any track to repeat!

The repeat button repeats the whole playlist, or "currently playing".
If you want to repeat a single track, you have to fabricate a single
track playlist. The "unnamed playlist" is fine for this.

Only yesterday I was daydreaming how nice it would be if the repeat
button cycled through four stages: Off -> repeat track -> repeat album
-> repeat entire playlist -> Off. Clearly the "album" stage will not
always be relevant. Funnily enough, this is exactly what the "repeat"
button on my SONY 600-CD jukebox does.

Thanks, Steve. I would like the repeat button to replay the song I have just
been listening to, no matter which window or library filter WMP11 is
currently displaying, I use the back button to facilitate this. By the way,
nice dog! I have a going blind springer spaniel gundog, she plasters
around me just like in your picture. She is a rescued dog. I throw stuffed
toys for her, she cannot see where it lands, but she starts searching with
her nose down, and always retrieves the dummy. Must have been a brilliant
gundog before her sight let her down. She's one of those wee dogs that just
wants to be your friend. Good God, that's one of the soppiest messages I
have ever  written!

That's definitely not how it works typically, as you've noticed.  =)

I believe you can use this:
===
If you want v11 to queue on double-clicks in the library, set
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences, value name
"LibraryDoubleClickQueueV11" to the REG_DWORD value 0x1.
===
to get at that behavior, but it's certainly an atypical request. =)

Speaking for myself only.
See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
