I use Cyberlink Power Director to transfer my home video recordings to MPEG
format.
Everything is fine if I make my file in MPEG-1 format ; however, if I try to
make it in MPEG-2, although everything seems fine when setting up and
transferring, when I play the file in Media Player it has no sound.
I assume that I have a missing codec (whatever a codec is !) but, not being
a "techie" I haven't the faintest idea how to identify what is missing or how
to rectify it.
Can anyone help please ?
I'm running Windows Media Player 11 (11.0.6001.7000) under Vista Ultimate
on a Dell XPS710

Which audio subtype is it?
Windows doesn't support AC3 audio by default, so if you're trying to use
that that'll be a problem.
Do you get an error? If so, what URL does the Web Help button on that
dialog take you to?
