I have a Zen V Plus MP3 player that opens Media Player 11
and auto syncs when I connect it. I'm trying to stop this
and have gone to the device settings to change it but the
box to change this setting is grayed out and it won't let me
make any changes. How can I stop Media Player from auto
syncing when I connect the MP3 player?

Which device settings option are you specifically referring to?  On XP or
Vista?

You should simply need to set up the initial sync relationship and then tell
it Not to sync and you should be good.  Some power users forget that the
player needs to know to Ignore the device and so keep canceling out of that
initial sync relationship setting dialog.
