I have downloaded Windows Media Player and have validated my XP Home Edition
numerous times.  It is like the Groundhog Day Movie -- over and and over!  I
reach the "thank you for using Genuine Microsoft Products" and "you've
finished the validation process". and still the "you must validate" box keeps
coming up.  Is there hope? ;)

You cannot install WMP10 on top of WMP11.  WMP10 has a broken installer:
please don't even try this because you will corrupt files if you do manage
to hack it that way.

Only install WMP10 on top of a system with WMP9 or lower.

Are you getting this message repeatedly from the *Player* or where?
