I repeatedly receive error message "an internal application error has
occurred" when trying to start Windows Media.  I have uninstalled and
reinstalled Media a couple of times and upgraded it to the latest beta
version before moving back to v10.  (Beta version would not respond in any
noticable way when trying to start it.)  I also have upgraded IE to its
latest version, trying to correct the problem.  All this started after I
downloaded free anti-virus and related applications a Washington Post
reviewer recommended.  I never had a problem before that.

Recommendations?

Yeah ZachD suggested this procedure before :

Go to the Start menu, choose Run
In the box type in this on one line :

regsvr32 jscript.dll

Hopefully starting WMP ought to work now, it's an IE related error.

Cheers - Neil
