Will WMP11 be including a way to sort your albums by disc number aswell
as track number?
At the moment, without sorting by file name, my albums with >1 discs
are ordered incorrectly first by album, then by track, then
alphabetically by title:

Album - Track - Title
Compilation - 1 - Air
Compilation - 1 - Brick
Compilation - 1 - Llama
Compilation - 2 - Epsilon
Compilation - 2 - Monkey
Compilation - 2 - Zappa
Compilation - 3 - Gemini
Compilation - 3 - Hippo
Compilation - 3 - Moose

(For a 3 CD album)
as opposed to say, iTunes, which orders it first by album, then by
disc, then track, then alphabetically by title (Not that this last one
should make a difference by this point):

Album - Disc - Track - Title
Compilation - 1 - 1 - Air
Compilation - 1 - 2 - Monkey
Compilation - 1 - 3 - Moose
Compilation - 2 - 1 - Llama
Compilation - 2 - 2 - Zappa
Compilation - 2 - 3 - Hippo
Compilation - 3 - 1 - Brick
Compilation - 3 - 2 - Epsilon
Compilation - 3 - 3 - Gemini

I know the information is stored in the tag, as Tag&Rename can find it,
as does iTunes, but as yet theres no way to sort by it, or edit it in
WMP.

It would be the same as in previous versions, append CD1 or Disk1 etc to the
end of the album name.

Yeah, that was my previous method, but my question was, will WMP11
eventaully support this? Since they even included the tag in WMA, their
own format, it seems a bit stupid to leave it out of their primary
media player! Also, does anyone on the media player team even visit
this group?

I doubt they will change it. Not all media formats support a disc tag
anyway, so it would be a little weird if some files sorted one way, and some
another.

Zach visits the group in an unofficial capacity. This beta is being run in a
"have it both ways" sense by Microsoft. They put the beta out to the public
and don't provide any mechanism to report bugs other than through product
support. This is only really possible inside the US - as the release notes
indicate.

Ive down load some albums, and there loaded into some times as many as 4

the right order either ie123, any body got any thoughts ?

This is a completely different issue, which should not be attached to tis
thread. It's actually been discussed in a few other threads already.
