ok i upgraded my media player to windows media player 10 and my media files
still have the old media player 9 icons anyone know what might have gone
wrong.

It's a shell cacheing issue.  I don't recall how to force it to update, nor
do I know if that's possible.  =\

well it fixed itself then when i cam back on today it had chnaged back? so i
dont know whats happened.
