Perhaps if it's blank there's nothing to detect ?

I'm not really sure from your 1-liner, exactly what you're asking
about, or what problem you're experiencing ;-)

I also recently "upgraded" from WM10 to WM11. I could previously burn CDs in
WM10, but now I cannot get WM11 to recognize a blank disc (I get the "Insert
Media" dialog error). This has to be some type of problem with WM11 because
it previously worked AND I can still burn discs using Roxio. Of course, my
problem is that I need WM to burn protected songs.

Any idea? I am at a loss and don't want to try rolling back to WM10.

If you disable Roxio "Drag to Disk", does WMP then work?

I'm having the same problem.  How did you disable drag to disc.  I didn't even realize that it was enabled.

I am having the same problem with trying to burn a disc in WMP11. It
asks for a blank disc and I have tried different brands thinking it may
be a brand issue but I can't seem to get anything to work. I didn't have
this problem with WMP10. Does anyone have a solution to this?
