WMP11 Default/Disable Quicktime in IE7

I just recently had to install Quicktime on my computer for another program
to work. Now Quicktime plays embedded .mp3's in IE7. WMP11 is set as the
default player but for some reason when I go to a site with music it plays
with quicktime. I have disabled the Quicktime plugin in my IE7 browser so
NOW I don't get any music on any web sites with music. I really hate
Quicktime and would rather not have it on my system but my Muvee producer
program needs it.
I am running Vista, WMP11, Quicktime 7.1
Any suggestions?

If you go to the system's Defaults Programs control panel and reassociate to
WMP there, does it then work as expected?

Ya I did that but Quicktime keeps resetting it when I go to a site that uses
Quicktime plug in. So I have to go
back a select WMP as default again. It's a little annoying.

QuickTime often will do this unless you uncheck certain options in their
Options/Preferences menus - you may want to check there.  WMP doesn't have
any control on this - WMP deliberately tries to avoid this kind of thing
since it tends to confuse and/or anger people.  =\
