Yes - but what *are*  ECCN AND CCATS codes ?

As you can tell from the lack of response to this thread, perhaps I'm
not the only person who's never heard of them (or why you want
whatever they are for)

ECCN stands for Export Control Classification Number. Every product leaving or entering the USA has one.

You can look up the one you want on the follwoing website for Microsoft.
http://www.microsoft.com/exporting/matrix_w.htm

Look under the products starting with W.

The CCATS is used only if the Commerce Department determined the ECCN for you.
