I have tried numerous times to install MP 11 on my system. I am using Windows
XP Home with SP2. Each time the install goes all the way to the end, but when
I try to run the program I get an error message (with no number) saying the
program is installed improperly and offering me a link to Microsoft to
download the program again. Any ideas?

I think maybe your computer lack some component, I recommend that you should
first download some fix and other component (automatic download). Then you can
install it again.

In the file
c:\windows\wmsetup.log
, what lines contain "ERROR:" ?
http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#setup11
should generally cover all WMP 11 setup failures.

Speaking for myself only.
See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
