I have tried everything I could think of, including erasing all entries,
exiting, making edits, exiting again.  It always looks like it's taking, but
then sure enough, "Other" comes back.  It's quite annoying because I use the
genre field to make my auto playlists and this screws them up.  Does anybody
have any suggestions.  Thanks so much for any help!

If the "Overwrite all media information" option is selected, try turning it
off.

For more info, see the "How do I prevent the Player from overwriting the
media information in my files?" section in the following Help topic:

I only had the get blank information box checked, but I unchecked it and so
far it's working.  Thank you.
