Problem with WM and Vista

I have just upgraded to Vista and transferred my WM files from XP using new
windows transfer software and today my WM crashed saying it wasn't shut down
properly when I now it was.

I had to add all the music again and now towards the end of every song it
'jumps' kinda like when a record is bumped (for those who remember them).
This happens to both downloaded and ripped music.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem or is it a Vista teething problem?

Thanks heaps.

Is it a Dell PC ? It's probably this, which is posted here daily :

Follow the 2 steps (install new drivers, disable ehnancements) Some
other PCs using Sigmatel audio are also affected, eg Sony, Gateway
PCs.
