During auto update, when I install KB890830, malicious software removal tool,
the PC crashes with the message "worker thread returned at bad IRQL".

I have narrowed  the updates down to this particular one by installing all
other updates successfully.

Any ideas?

Apart from posting in the wrong group, updates would have been better, but
perhaps not too easy to find if using the web interface discussion group. I
was told, very early on when it first came out, to burn to disc then drag
and drop it on your desktop OR save to desktop.
It is one of those self opening cabinets or something - I could never
remember where it installed to and used to go round and round in circles to
find it.

Hope this helps
