I am trying to use my task manager and it says "task manager has been disabled by the administrator." I am the only one on my computer and also titled the administrator. ModifyOk, for those of you that have tried this regedit command, "REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableTaskMgr /t REG_DWORD", if it does not work, go here in the regedit.... HKEY_Current_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System (This is in Wondows Vista OS) Locate the Disable TaskMgr REG_WORD and change the value to 0 (Zero) if it is set to 1. To change the value, RIGHT click on the Disable TaskMgr then click Modify... I had a problem where I couldn't select Task Manager, I didn't get any messages, it just wasn't highlighted, or available from the Ctrl-Alt-Delete screen. Sounds like same problem I had with a rouge downloader called alpha antivirus. Then set up a new administrator account and afterwards delete the old one.
