I installed Vista Build 5384 for trial and renamed the Administrator account
to something else for security. Now I want to rename this account back to the
name "Administrator" but failed, it displays "The specified account name is
not valid, because there is already an account with that name."

Hello Alex;

Unless you were in Safe Mode or had hacked Vista so that you could access
the Administrator account, it isn't likely that you renamed it.  You
probably renamed an administrator-level user account, instead.

My favourite so far: Unknown device has been correctly installed.

Hi Mark,

Actually, I can use the Administrator account in Safe mode only but can not
switch to Administrator during logon under normal mode. I did rename the
"Administrator" account by clicking the following links: Control Panel,
System and Maintenance, Administrative Tools, Computer Management(Local),
Local Users and Groups, and then rename it to other name. Thanks for you help.

Regards,
Alex

Sorry I was not more helpful.  I believe that the Administrator account is
only accessible in Safe Mode by default.  Jimmy Brush has posted elsewhere
(I think it was him) instructions on how to force this account to show on
the Welcome screen.  It includes creating a new registry key.  Perhaps you
can search the newsgroups and find these instructions.

Just a question, though, if you don't mind: Why do you want to have this
option?
