relax, the vast majority of others (such as I) are in the same situation as
you. we haven't gotten the E-Mail yet, not have we gotten the
already-paid-for RC1 DVD.

They will both come in time.

In the meantime, as long as you stil have the legitimate key Microsoft
provided to you for Beta2, you can go here and download RC1 and use your
Beta 2 key to install it and activate it.

That would be great if one has a broadband connection.  Those who only
have dial-up accounts are (hopefully) being dissuaded from trying to
download 2.6GB (especially when most dial-up providers reset their
users' IP addresses every 24 hrs.)

Even some Broadband providers do this.  Which makes it very hard to
download a clean ISO.

If you can, don't forget to download the RC1 build 5728.  It is CLEAN
and PURE.  Much better than RC1 was.  In fact, it is very close to
RTM, in my opinion.

I have it installed as the only OS on my Apple Intel iMac (Yes, you
CAN take that P.O.S OS called "OSX" off your HD, and install Vista
exclusively on your Intel Macs (in fact, it installs on an Intel Mac
EXACTLY as it would on a "normal" Wintel PC.  NOTE:  The latest Apple
firmware update MUST be installed first), and it runs even better than
Windows XP ever did.  In fact, it runs better than Tiger.  And looks
much better, also.
