My new laptop is for home use only.  I would like to deactivate the
"Password" login when I boot up my machine every day.  Please provide
instructions.  Thank you.

Hello Lisa,
The procedures are quite simple, but there is this "Murphy Law" (ever
heard of it?  Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.)
I believe this account you want to "deactivate the password " is your
administrator account and it's also your ONLY account in the system. So,
to prevent anything goes awry and you're locked out of the computer, you
would want to bring out the Built-in Administrator. Here is the link :
http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67567-administrator-account.html

Once you have it enabled, logon to it. The computer will set up the
desktop for it, just wait. When all this is done, here is the step by
step :
1. Click Control Panel, choose Control Panel Home.(not classic view).
2. Click Add or Remove user accounts, click Continue on prompt.
3. Click your account .
4. Click Remove the password. Follow the prompt in the next window.
5. Close all windows, reboot(power off, then on), select normal mode,
press Enter.
6. You should see 2 account icons on the screen. Click your account.
You should be let in without asking for password.
7. Refer to the tutorial I gave you, dis-able the built-in admin
account.
I sure hope you know what you are doing. Why won't you keep your admin
account With password protected, and set up an user account Without
password to do what you want ??

T-4-2:

Thank you for the information.  The 'I sure hope you know what you are
doing' comment reminded me of an old "SNL" skit - the one where the IT guy
would make the person who needed help feel like a complete idiot.  :(

The comment was referring to your decision to deactivate password login
option, not by any means to your intellectual prowess. To avoid hurting
your feeling from now on, I shall distant myself from you posts
henceforth. Have a good day.
