Some how i have lost the driver for my cd/dvd rw hard ware. it was working
and then i shut down my computer for the night and the next day tryed to load
windows 7 and the drive is not responding.  the drivers for the drive came
diretly from vist upon intallation of the drive when the computer was built.
also it gives an error message that usb devises are not installed. Any and
all help would be appreciated..

Have you checked the BIOS setup when the computer boots up to make sure it
sees the drive?  If not then the drive has likely failed.  Replace it.

Start search > type *devmgmt.msc* > accept the UAC prompt > when the
