The Event Viewer does not function properly. I get an error, "Event log
service is unavailable. Verify that the service is running."
I check in Services and Application and it is not in there.

don't know where else to look. Any suggestions?

Hello,

The event log service is titled "Windows Event Log" in the services mmc
snap-in.

Thanks Jimmy, I found that later and looked at it and it was enabled.
However, there are more strange things going on so I'm going to rebuild and
start fresh.

I will advise though when it's all said and done.
