Problems with Folder Security Personal after upgrading to VISTA

Hi, hope you can help me.

I had Folder Security Personal running in my XP SP2 machine to lock some
sensitive documents. I forgot to uninstall before upgrading to VISTA, now
whenever I try to open my locked folder, I get a message saying that I don't
have administrator privileges even though I am the only user and
administrator of the machine.

Somebody suggested that I should turn on the guest account, but whenever I
go to the account manager I don't have the guest account, only mine as
administrator.

Can somebody help me? Any help would really be appreciated.

Thanks,

Max

How are you accessing the folders? Try using Run as administrator. Find
Windows Explorer in the Start menu. Right click on it and pick Run as
administrator. If this gets you access to the folder then immediately copy
the files out of the folder.

Kerry, thanks for your input.

I went into windows explorer, found the executable of the application and
right-clicked it and selected "Run as Administrator" as you told me to do.
The program starts running and the window to input my password appears, I
type my password and I get the following message:

"Logon failed due to unexpected error. Please note that you must have the
administrator privilege to start Folder Security Personal."

Hope that somebody can point me in the right direction.

The next step is to try different compatbility settings. Right click on the
executable and pick properties. Click on the Compatibilty tab and try some
of the many options.

Have you conatcted the suport for the program?

Thanks again Kerry. I tried Window XP SP2 compatibility, since that was the
system that I upgraded from, but without success. I still get the same
message.

I will contact the support group for the program.

Thanks again for your help,

Max

It does look like that is your best option.
