I'm running chkdsk on Vista at boot time.

It reports a couple of errors with two files (itprobasic.h1s and
comctl32.dll.mui)
Chkdsk goes through the motions of fixing the index but each time I run
chkdsk I get the same error.

Any ideas how to fix this please ?

Hi, Michael.

Have you scanned your system for viruses or other malware?  Recently?

Google finds nothing for "itprobasic" except a couple of sites written in
German, both referencing sites for HiJackThis, a malware-scanning tool.
Comctl32.dll is a legitimate part of Vista, but the .mui extension has been
added on by something, perhaps a rogue program of some kind.

All this may be symptomatic of bigger problems in your computer.  If you
need instructions for scanning your system, please post back.
