I recently just re-installed Windows Vista Ultimate and before i had no
problems what so ever. But... now when i tried downloading a file to the
downloads folder or anywhere els it does not save. I have searched the
whole drive C and nothing. can you help me? i also noticed when
installing AVG it doesn't run. When installing Dreamweaver could not
find dreamweaver folder in /Adobe/

Hi, Nate.

Question #1:  What is YOUR User Name?

Question #2:  What do you see in C:\Users\<Your User Name>\Downloads?

If you don't know your User Name, just press the Start key and look at the
top of the right-hand Menu column.  Right under the little doggie - or
whatever icon you've chosen.

In my case, I would look in C:\Users\RC\Downloads.  You might find it in
C:\Users\Nate\Downloads.

If they use the Windows Installer (MSI), it should appear no problem.
Usually links will be put in the start menu to access the applications.  If
you open the properties of the shortcut in the start menu, it should tell you
the path of the actual file.

Some thoughts:
- If you're installing a 32-bit application on a 64-bit Os, it will be
installed to the "Program Files (x86)" folder.
- If the application isn't running with the Windows installer, then it is
possible that it could be ending up in the compatability files for
virtualization purposes.  You should see a button in the commands bar if this
is the case.

Hope this helps,

Please don't "test" on the back of an existing thread - there are test
groups for this purpose.
