Windows Vista is a good 5 months away from being finished, as is everyone's

I have similar lag, and similar comfiguration
Windows Vista (but x84 (32bit)) with ATi Drivers, but not play EverQuest II,
i don't know that this is the same, but i found that my lag is causing by
svchost.exe (seems some services), it can be save terminated, when i
localize what service is causing my lag i will turn it off.

Yes, I too see that Direct X 10 have some problems with games and programs,
or
programs have problems with Direct X, but this is BETA and i understand
that.
