Need more info. What game are you trying to install? When does the error
occur, when you insert the CD? When the installshield application starts?
or none of the above?
Apply all your Windows Updates.
Find and download the latest video and audio drivers for your computer.
(You have an nVidia card in your computer, I recommend the driver from
laptopvideo2go.com:

I think you have 64-bit, but check your system just to be sure.)
Find the dxwebsetup.exe file from http://www.microsoft.com/directx
This should ensure all your computer files are updated (yes, even new
computers need updates).
If you try all this and the game still doesn't install, respond, include
the original message as well as the game name.

Oh, you have Vista-32 bit, and when you get dxwebsetup.exe, run it on your
computer and click next til it's finished.

IMHO, it's simpler just install 9.0c from one of game disks.

Opera 9.27.8841 ROCKS on WindowsME, and Vista-32 SP1

True, but if you install the version online you get all the files to date
and you don't have to worry about it in the (immediate) future. Only takes
like an extra 30 seconds.
