Vista Stop Error after windows update

Hi, I'm getting a "stop error" with the blue screen just after I did a
windows update, can someone help please? Here is some info...

System: Vista 32bit
Error code: 0x0000001E, KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
These updates were installed just before the stop error problem:
-Definition update for windows defender - KB915597 (Definition 1.22.9607.0)
-Windows malicious software removal tool - May 2008 (KB890830)
-Security update for microsoft office publisher 2003 (KB950213)
-Security update for microsoft office word 2003 (KB950241)
-Update for microsoft office outlook 2003 junk email filter (KB950380)
-Update for windows mail junk e-mail filter (May 2008) (KB 905866)

A search on the error code "0000001E" on microsoft.com yields many hits
like:

I am having the same exact problem just today, after these last microsoft
update for vista, I get the blue screen stop error. Basically a brand new
computer.

Guess I will have to turn off microsoft updates for now until I fix a
problem I shouldn't have to fix.
