HP drivers online have at minimum allowed us to install and use the
printing function. However, the installation CD with all of the HP
software for scanning, faxing, etc. doesn't run. Click setp.exe and the
spash windoe says "click install to begin..." but the only button
available is EXIT.
I'll be on the phone with HP customer service on Monday morning.
Anyone else out ther having installation issues with Vista x64 and HP
2840 software?
One thing i could try is installing Vista x32 but i don't know if it
would be worth my troubles...
input??

avilable

Hi DL,
Actually they have a universal printer driver: go to the following
URL: 'New HP Universal Print Driver solves Vista Printing Problems for
LaserJets'
I can print douments - i just can't install the HP software...the CD
simply won't run setup.exe as one would expect...
I'm wiating for tomorrow to get here so i can contact HP about it.
i'd hate to lose my 8MB RAM because i have to install the 32 bit
version...on top of that, how do i know if it will run in the 32-bit
version, right?

I know there is a universal driver, but if the software is not designed for
Visa then it may not run

well, HP says it supports only 32-bit XP or 32-bit Vista...so there it
is.
