Hello all,

I installed an ati x1600 pro card (512mb) after installing vista beta 2.
Aero works just fine now. Had some trouble with tv playback in mediacenter,
hickups and shutdowns. Also wmv and rm files didnt play anymore in media and
realplayer.
This was with the ms vista drivers (7.7.9.0) The included cd with drivers
didn't install the drivers and catalyst, intalled the drivers manually (ati
8.25) all workin fine but still no catalyst. Downloaded the latest drivers
(8.26) from ati website, catalyst working but same hickups in tv in
mediacenter. Rolled back to ati 8.25 tv fine again also mediaplayer and
realplayer. But i have no more thumbnails from pictures in my "pictures"
folder (not in any folder). They where visible with my 128 mb radeon
9250card before.
viewing options are set to " large thumbnails" anyone knows this problem and
what to do about it ??

Asus A7N8X-XE
Sempron 2800
2 GB corsair
Ati X1600 pro
Dual tuner tv card

hi Hilbert
i saw your post, i have the same card (although 256 mb version) + driver
troubles.  the latest ATI catalyst drivers install OK but i get no Aero.
the windows driver i have is 8.26 but that gives the same results.  can i
ask where did you get the 8.25 driver from?  i've looked around on the net
and all i can find is 8.25 for linux...
could you post a link?  or mail me the driver files?  tim at mackey dot eye
