I just received my beta version of Vista and I am wondering what hardware is
currently available that will allow me to capture my HD signal (either DVI or
Compsote) from my HD Cable Box.  Price is not a major factor.  I'd like to
get the best quality.

I believe you mean DVI or component(not composite since that is 480i
resolution only)
In any case there are no hardware add on cards for Vista, or XP for that
matter, that can handle the bandwidth required to accept decoded 720p or
1080i resolutions into a PC over DVI or component from a STB.

When Vista is released you will be able to get a system that has Cable Card
support from the major OEMs which will solve your problem and eliminate the
requirement for you to have a separate HD cable box.

Are you talking about the ATI OCUR.  I have been searching for info and
cannot find any info about a release date or whether it will be available to
the public and not just the OEM's

Yes, ATI OCUR will be released in January when the Vista Retail from what I
have read  it will only be available with new systems purchased from
authorized OEMS.
