get some image software to clone the old drive to new, unplug old and move
the new one to the vacated port....

possible candidates: acronis, some version of symantec or norton ghost

Why bother with a transfer.??
Why not install the 2nd SATA drive and use it  as such...you will need to go
to Admin Tools/computer managemnt/disk management and format the drive
You can install new programs to it..most new ones now give you a choice of
where to install to.
You can create more room on the old drive by doing a disk cleanup...by
moving your mail storage to the new drive...by moving the Internet cache to
the new drive..by changing the default "save to" folder for programs to a
specific folder you create onthe new drive.
If your old drive is exceptionally full you also could uninstall some of
your programs and reinstall on the new drive.
