I have a few external hard drives that were preformated when purchased.
How can I tell if the external hard drive is using FAT32 or NTFS?
Is there software in Vista that will tell you?
Is there free shareware that will tell you?

Thanks for the info!

It is more than likely pre-formatted to FAT32.
