Will this card work in vista? It has 256mb ram it's a ati radeon 9600 gpu
inside. I'm almost settled on this card but don't want to get it to find out
it won't work in vista. If not what NVIDIA card will work with Media Center
in Vista. I belong to MSDN but not Connect.

While the *graphics* side is support, the following featuers are *NOT*
supported:

1.  Video capture is not supported
2.  Video input/output (VIVO), including TV-out.
3.  TV tuner functionality (applies to all AIWs, regardless of interface).

however, Aero Glass is supported for all 9600 and higher cards (including
their Mobile Radeon counterparts) with 128 MB or more of RAM.  I am hoping
that a proper AIW-series driver will be released in time for the release of
Beta 2.

release of Beta 2.

But I would be hoping for drivers by RTM.

But it is a bad choice for TV.  It's a software encoder.  Buy a Hauppauge
PVR-150 for $60.  Much better.

so tv tuner doesn't work in vista with any video/tv tuner all in one card on
the market right now?

Correct.  The only such cards belong to ATI and their AIB partners, and
*none* are supported by Vista for other than graphics (at the present time).

for me it does not (all-in-wonder 9600), although it`s a 9600 it does not
work because windows won't be able to start the device after installing the
drivers (the current ones for beta2 AND the ones provided with windows
itself). the same was with the february ctp, I guess there is a compatibility
problem with all-in-wonders and they're not supported yet.
I tried both, installing via device manager and using ATI's installer.

I wonder if you were successful, cause I heard of other people with the same
problem, but ATI doesn't seem to see a problem with it...

I just tried to get my AIW1800 installed and the no-go on the multimedia part
of it. Vista's Media Center didn't even see it. I got the secondary display
driver to install.

I notice there is no mention of ATI's TV Wonder.... I am guessing it is still
a no-go?
