Hi
I have a Dell Vostro 1000 laptop.. I upgraded it to Vista Ultimate 64
bit edition today and it flies like horse with a rocket engine in its
a**

Only experiencing 1 problem...

1) My Alps touchpad is working but the scroll function on the side and
bottom are not working as Vista did not pick the drivers up. There are
drivers on Dell's site but not for 64bit Vista. So does anyone know
where I can find drivers and setup program for my touchpad?

Also, I associated some files to play with Real Player and want to
change the icon. It was pretty simple in XP. Folder Options -> File
Types. How can I do this in Vista???

Until and if Dell or the touchpad manufacturer offers drivers for Vista 64,
you can't.  Good luck! Before upgrading any machine, it's a good idea to
assemble all the required drivers. If they are not available, either change
you mind, or be prepared to live with limited functionality.  (Sometimes XP
64 drivers will work - sort of....)  Good luck.
