Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be
corrupted or missing. (Code 39)...

...Was the error i got when trying to reinstall the driver. Have always been
using the vista default driver. I've done nothing to make this happen what i
know of, but when i got home today my DVD drive and Virtual DVD devices were
gone and i couldnt get them back. I've tried reinstalling drivers,
downloading drivers from NEC homepage for my dvd drive and even made a system
restore to yesterday when all was working. Is this the Virtual drive programs
fault and if so, what to do about it? Everything have worked for 1 year with
virtual drives and everything. All DVD devices show up in device manager but
not in my computer all with the same error stated at the top of this post.
Please solve this problem so i donät have to fromat my computer!

Alex,

This may be out in left field but did you install update 943899? May
possibly have been caused by a recommended update and does indeed mention
lost of viewing of CD Roms etc.

This update killed my waking from sleep, but the KB does mention the ROM
issue.
Let us know.
