Not sure if this is the right word but how do you get rid of these mails coming into my mail box that are nothing but disgusting. Over the night 25 came in. Is there anyway of blocking them as they change their name and address nearly everytime. There's not much point in trying to block those that change their name and address every time. For those who don't, open the message, click on Message, then Create rule from message, then Delete it, then choose what conditions to use, and click on OK. Hi Jayseaweav, You can set your Junk filter to "Safe List Only". This way only your contacts and "Safe Senders" are allowed through. Everything else gets dumped in the Junk E-mail box. It can be easier to maintain the safe senders list than a Blocked senders list. Your ISP or email provider will usually have a junk filter you can setup on the website interface for your POP3 email. This can be helpful if you do not want it to reach your computer at all. I'm using it on Vista with no problems and it is very effective. Windows Mail seems to be overly sensitive to interference from third party programs, and sometimes it takes a while for that problem to show up. I checked the Spam Pal site and it appears that the volunteers that keep improvements going are disappearing. Too bad as the program is superb. I'll keep using it until new spam sites overwhelm the existing database. As it stands now I don't know of a better program. I using version 1.594 released in October 2005. Our POP 3 accounts from our service provide get virtually no Spam. Also, I have a Hotmail Plus account and my wife has a regular Hotmail account and both are relatively free of spam either in the Inbox or the Junk e-mail box. On the other hand, my wife uses Wildmail as her primary e-mail account and she gets a lot more than 25 junk mail messages overnight as does the Netscape/AOL account she rarely uses. Wayne One thing I have noticed is I block both the sender and the domain and the spam keeps coming through. All of the spam mail that gets through are from what appear to be legit sites that I at some time in the past have logged onto for some reason. Some of the sites are like People Magazine etc. One time I ordered the magazine as a Xmas gift and have been getting spam ever since. Since I might want to renew it I don't want to canx my account on their site. I never check the boxes that say I want to receive e-mail from these sites and yet it is coming in and through the Windows Mail filters. If you have that sender in your Contacts, or on the Safe Senders list, it will override Blocked Senders. I tried the blocking. If the spam is coming from out of the country you can set up the Windows Mail filter to stop them. However if you are like me and have a few friends overseas you need to be very careful how you do this or you block them. I believe that if you right click on the e-mail in your inbox you can tell the filter to allow specific out of the country domains. What I have done to make sure I don't miss anything is have the filter send all spam to the "Spam folder" or "junk e-mail folder". If I find an e-mail in there from someone I want to have come through I right click on it and add the sender to my friends of "safe senders" list. You need to play with the spam filter system in Windows and fine tune it so that it works for you. My ISP from Cox has a very good spam filter system and it has blocked almost all of the "sex" spam before I ever see it which is great! > One thing I have noticed is I block both the sender and the domain and the > spam keeps coming through.
