Windows Forum / Windows Vista / Mail / May 2008Autocomplete not working for Windows Mail
When sending an e-mail in WM I begin entering an e-mail address in the To box that should autocomplete. I've got autocomplete set. But it does not. I imported my address book from Outlook Express. I've Google'd around for help with this and see lots of complaints but no mention of fixes. I realize this problem much have been posted to this group many times. But it is not showing up in any of the postings that I can currently view and I am new to the group. Hope someone knows of a fix. Any help much appreciated. -- Sam Auto-complete does not work well in Windows Mail. Instead of the regular Contacts list, it uses a special list of the last 29 addresses you sent mail to. That function works much better in the newer Windows Live Mail. Instead, it uses a separate list of the last 29 addresses you sent messages to. If you'd rather use the contacts list, start a new message as usual, except don't type any part of the address. Instead, click on To:. |
