Windows Mail gives you some pretty nice stationery but in the "Help" section
it also tells you how you can download a lot more stationery.  I followed the
directions: Tools, Options, Compose, Stationery then Download More.  When a
new page comes up, I click on "Click on Download More Stationery Here" and I
follow the directions.  I must have tried this 5 times and I don't know where
the stationery I chose goes.  I can't find it anywhere.  Where should I look
for it and am I doing anything wrong?  I have Windows Vista and use Windows
Mail and Verizon if my ISP if you have to know these things !!!!

Thanks for your help.

Hi Nadia,

Does the downloaded stationery show up in step 17 here for you?

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/96516-windows-mail-stationery.html

If not, they usually have the htm file extension. You can do a complete
search on your hard drive using "*.htm" (no quotes) to find all htm
files on your computer. Be sure to have non-indexed and system file
locations selected in you search options.

Hope this helps you,
Shawn

Hi Brink,

Thanks for the info.  I tried it and followed the directions in the link
that you provided:  http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/96516-windows-mail-,
and when I went to view the downloaded stationery by doing:  Message, New
Message Using, Select Stationery--the downloaded stationery wasn't there.  SO
I must have done something wrong because--Since the downloaded stationery
wasn't there I searched in other files on the same page and somehow now I
can't preview anything.  All that comes up is:  jumbled letters, symbols and
numbers.  Everything that was there before is gone.  What did I do!!!!!....

Also, I know that this is not a stationery question but:  when I was
notified by email that I had an answer to my question in Community Help, I
could not connect by the link provided in the auto email to me.  I had to go
to the Community help by doing it from the "Help" tab and signing in, and
looking for my posted question.  This only happens when I'm trying to connect
thru Windows Mail.

If I posted a question through Windows Live Mail and receive a reply through
that email using the link provided, it goes through NO PROBLEM.

Do you have any ideas why this is happening????

So I have 2 questions:

1.  Stationery not there and all the other stationery that was there is gone
and numbers, symbols, etc replaced it in the preview screen.

2.  Can't directly connect to Community Help from the link provided in the
email that I received only in Windows Mail.

Thanks

Hi Shawn,

The problem with the missing stationery and jumbled letters, symbols, etc
has fixed itself.  When I tried it again later, everything was back the way
it was before.  I even downloaded stationery from Cloudeight and found that
there.  I check #17 and my download isn't there either.  I didn't do a
complete search on my hard drive--well I tried to but I couldn't figure out
how to really do it.  I'll have to try that again.
The stationery from Cloudeight is there but not the download from the
"Download More" button in Windows Mail Compose file.

The default folder for Windows Mail is My Documents/My Stationery
Cloudeight stationery downloads to this folder:
C:/Program Files/Common Files/Microsoft Shared/Stationery

If you plan to download lots of Cloudeight stationery, creating a desktop
shortcut for the Stationery folder might be something you want to consider.
