Can you please tell me what I'm doing wrong and what the following message
means:

The host 'pop3@tiscali.co.uk' could not be found. Please verify that you
have entered the server name correctly.

Account: 'pop3@tiscali.co.uk' Server: 'pop3@tiscali.co.uk' Protocol: pop3,
port110, Secure(SSL); No, socket Error; 11003
Error number:0x800CC0D

Thanks

These instructions were written for Outlook Express, but should also work
under Windows Mail if they don't call for the HTTP protocol:

http://www.tiscali.co.uk/help/email/oe_settings_start.html

If that doesn't help, what if any antivirus programs do you have?  Some
of them cause assorted problems in Windows Mail, although seldom
immediately.

Hint:  The server name has all "." in it and no "@" signs.

It's simple really - you included the AT symbol "@" as used in email
addresses. You're actually wanting to priovide the server name (which
will forward emails to you from other people) so should be
"pop3.tiscali.co.uk".

P.S. The "smtp.tiscali.co.uk" which you will also set up is similarly
formatted and allows you to send emails outward from your PC.
