You don't have the POP3, SMTP settings right nor the ports numbers. Go online to RoadRunner, go to HELP, go to their FAQ and search for POP, POP3 settings. Each server has the ones they need you to put in to your mail client app for their system to recognize you. The in coming is POP3 and the out going is SMTP usually. The port numbers vary as do the SSL requirements and the authorization requirements. I don't use RoadRunner or I would give you the settings here, but RR should have them listed in their FAQ. Now if you want the settings for AIM, Comcast or Gmail, I'm there! From your post it seems you have the POP3 setting wrong, most likely the port number and/or the SSL requirement. It should read something like "pop.gmail.com" or "mail.comcast.net" depending on your server requirements. I'd GUESS that it most likely would be "mail.roadrunner.net". No idea on the port numbers. Good luck!

Does your connection to that server cross over from one internet provider's
equipment to another's before it reaches the server? If so, such
connections
to port 25 are often blocked to cause trouble for spammers, so you need to
check if you have the option of using some other port instead. Just trying
all the ports is a very slow way to find out, since there are about 65,000
ports available.
See if this leads you to useful information:

I use Roadrunner, and your email settings look like they could be correct
(if you are a customer that was switched from a previous ISP).
Are you connected to Roadrunner (at home) when you have this problem? If
you are using a laptop away from home, then Roadrunner won't let you send
thru their server.
If you are home, connected to Roadrunner, then what anti-virus, anti-spam
and anti-spyware programs are you using?

Your settings are correct if you were a former Adelphia customer.
Were you sending from home when you got that error message?
Which antivirus are you running?
